Jorge Alberto González Barillas (born March 13, 1958), popularly known as El Mágico, is a retired Salvadoran footballer.
A very creative striker, with excellent ball control, technical ability and dribbling skills (his talent is overshadowed by questionable behavior off the court), is widely regarded as being the best Salvadoran footballer of all time, as well as One of the best Latin American footballers in the history of the game.
In 2000, he was named Player of the Century of his country in the Elections of the Player of the Century of IFFHS. [6] [7] [8] At club level, he is primarily associated with his stage with the Spanish team Cádiz, while at the international level he represented the national team of El Salvador for more than two decades, he also participated in the World Cup of the 1982 FIFA and the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
